The title is clickbait. This has nothing to do with modern AI and Meta (along with every other tech company) has been randomly shutting down accounts for years now.
I work in Trust and Safety (not at Meta). We've never 'randomly' shut down an account and any action involving deactivation or deletion goes through thorough human review with no exceptions.
The lack of respect for the end-user is squarely a Meta problem, not an industry problem.
Isn't AI used for assessing which images classify as child exploitation? I would think so. Also, just because some evil has been happening for years does not excuse new incidents of such evil.
