That’s cool and all but there’s not a lot we can do about it still. I cannot fall asleep in a mask. The only thing that works for me is sleeping with my mouth shut. If it’s open I end up still suffocating, but I worked out a sleeping position for myself where that’s unlikely. Also, this is anatomy dependent, so some folks can snore and suffocate even if they breathe through their nose. Which is to say, our ability to deal with the issues these devices may uncover hasn’t really meaningfully progressed in several decades, and knowing that you have something isn’t really much help in that case.
Out of the question for the same reason as masks. I’m having trouble falling asleep as it is, without stuff in my nose, mouth, or on my face. The only thing I seriously tried for night use were nasal strips. I had semi-permanent stuffy nose at the time. But then I discovered that if I’m mindful about breathing through the nose during the day, I don’t need them and nasal passages are dry enough to breathe freely. That of course does not include an occasional head cold and the like.
This is actually a really cool feature. I've never had any interest in an Apple Watch, but this is something I'd be genuinely interested in. Too bad it requires an iPhone largely.
I think there are other less time intensive methods outside of a sleep study, but it is nice to simplify it down to just wearing this and finding out!
