With an eZ80 and color screen, it’s much more like a feature phone without a SIM card than a pure calculator.

Feature phones have been using low-end ARM for past 20 years, at least. The Z80 is a particularly old CPU.

About 3x quicker at the same frequency and the performance is comparable to a Z80 clocked at 150 MHz if fast memory

That's enormously faster than I was getting on a 286-12 with POVRay, which was more like 0.05 fph.
