Serendipity Finds You (2010) (paulbuchheit.blogspot.com)

I generally have two contradicting theories of why everything is serendipity and everything might not be serendipity.

First, everything is serendipity simply because there are just too many variables to solve for the equation of life. Serendipity is bound to happen and it is more common than one thinks.

Second, everything is planned even though there are so many variables involved because implicitly by the sum total of our actions, we knowingly or unknowingly fill those variables with known values and so what we think as a serendipitous experience is actually a planned experience that we unknowingly planned by the sum total of our actions until that point.

I like the first theory because it has an element of mysticism to it.

A.k.a. determinism. In your example, it wouldn't just be the sum total of our actions, but also the sum total of everyone else's actions.

The second one can't work anyway because there's a huge conflict of interest in our world so we can't all simultaneously get what we wish. :)

Is it serendipity, that I just posted russian translation https://habr.com/ru/post/558800/?

Ehhh… I prefer synchronicity to serendipity. Everything happens for a reason. There are forces that we can’t see propel life to happen. Nevertheless, enjoy the ride!
