I don't really believe in the 10,000 hours number. Granted I've never read the book but it 'feels' faux.

The amount of time needed to master is more a combination of deep practice, motivation to master & the individual learning rate.

'The talent code' talks about deep practice. Deep practice is the 80 in the 80/20 principle.



Some essays have refuted this hypothesis. Some people have natural talent, i.e. prodigies, which may become proficient in far shorter time.
